The 9th Annual Children’s Parade will be Wednesday, July 26
Because of the weather forecast, we have decided to change the Children’s Parade into the Children’s Party!
Families registered for the Parade will be able to enter The Building for Kids for free from 5 pm – 8 pm (registration is already closed). We will have a dance party with Doug from 95.9 KISS FM, community partners with hands-on activities and visits from Storybook Stars characters!
You are encouraged to wear your costumes, but we won’t have space for the “floats” in the BFK. We know that you have worked super hard on your floats, so be sure and take a photo your costumes and float and post it on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. Either tag The Building for Kids or use hashtag #buildingforkids. We will use the photos to award individual and group awards for imagination, creativity, confidence and spirit. But post your pics by Friday so we can judge!
Kids 12 and under are invited to dress up and march down College Avenue in this non-motorized parade. Parade line up and number pick up begins at 5:15, Parade starts at 6 pm. Registration is free (but required).
After the parade, the fun continues in City Park with a Fox Valley Food Truck Rally, music with 95.9 KISS FM. Plus family activities including building activities with the Appleton Public Library, Mexican tissue flower creation with Child Care Resources & Referral, paper airplanes and origami frogs with the Paper Discovery Center, disc golf tutorial with the Greater Fox Valley Disc Golf Club, Dr. Seuss activities with Xavier Theatre Academy, games with The Building for Kids and more. “The Lego Batman Movie” will play at dusk.
